The cover was made out of a piece of aluminium sheet. Its surface was then treated with a drill brush to give it the "brushed" look. The reason I didn't buy a cord hole cover was that I could not find any that wasn't made of plastic.
The hole was made using a hole saw. To countersink the lid, a slightly bigger hole saw was used, which effectively removed the laminate layer and a bit of the fiberboard, leaving a perfectly fitted hole for the cover.
The cover coincides perfectly with the laminate surface.
Renovated the kitchen in our apartment. Threw out the old kitchen, including the floor and ceiling, and built a new one. Covered areas like: new floor, new panel based ceiling, tiling, assembly, etc. I also allowed myself to experiment beyond conventionality and add some personal (but nonetheless elegant and functional) touch to the end result.
